would be glad to be informed whether the Secretary of State would consent to the overprinting of Hong Kong stamps for Imperial purposes. If so, I am to enquire what payments would be required for the supply of the Colonial stamps for this purpose both (1) provisionally and (2) as a permanent, arrangement.

The Postmaster General will also be interested to learn how soon it is expected that Hong Kong postage stamps hearing the head of King George will be available for overprinting.
